Women drivers!

A quick blog text today to draw your attention to a really interesting story that I picked up on the BBC News website this morning – it’s about women taxi drivers in Iran. Given that women in neighbouring Saudi Arabia aren’t even allowed to drive, I found the story quite surprising but very encouraging. The women’s taxi service – women taxi drivers providing a service for women passengers – is growing rapidly and seems to be both traditional and modern at the same time. I also like the fact that the women are able to purchase their cars over time from the company so it’s a service, a job and an investment at the same time.
