The Commission adopted on 27th October the communication "Towards a Single Market Act for a highly competitive social market economy" with 50 proposals developed by a group of 12 Commissioners. This document is now submitted to a public consultation until the end of February 2011. Based on the contributions received, the Commission will propose to the Council and the Parliament a definitive version of the Act in March 2011.
