Despite recent setbacks, efforts to strengthen relations between the Turkish National Assembly and the European Parliament have been made. Nonetheless, the delegation still raises concerns and questions regarding Turkey’s democratic standards, rule of law and human rights. These issues are often discussed and debated in the framework of the EU-Turkey Joint Parliamentary Committee meetings.
