Los Socialistas y Demócratas acogen con satisfacción el acuerdo político alcanzado anoche entre los negociadores del Parlamento Europeo y la Presidencia danesa, en nombre de los Estados miembros de la UE, sobre el nuevo Sistema de Preferencias Generalizadas (SPG). El SPG es el instrumento clave de la política comercial de la UE para apoyar a los países en desarrollo mediante la supresión o reducción unilateral de los derechos de importación sobre las mercancías originarias de sus economías.
