Due to the upcoming 2024 European elections, the S&D Group informs you that we will not welcome trainees in the 1st semester of 2024.

For more information on our traineeship funds, registration period(s) and the application procedure, etc. please contact: s-d.traineeships@europarl.europa.eu. Please note that we DO NOT accept spontaneous traineeship applications via this email address. Only applications sent via the online system (during the registration period) will be taken into consideration.

In 2004, the S&D Group launched the Peace Fund, now called the Herwig Kaiser - International Co-operation Fund, inspired by the memory of our late S&D Deputy Secretary General, a firm promoter of international cooperation. The fund promotes the values of peace, dialogue and co-operation beyond national borders and to champion conflict resolution in vulnerable areas and countries bordering the EU. The candidate of this fund must be a citizen from a recent or a former conflict area or country in the world (or an EU citizen engaged in cooperating with a recent or a former conflict area or country in the world), or from a potential new member state to the neighbourhood.

General provisions

In order to determine to the department that best suits your profile, you can find out more about the work of each team in our Secretariat.

To apply for a traineeship you must fulfil the conditions specified in Article 3 of the internal rules governing traineeships in the S&D Group and complete the online application form.

When applying online, you have a maximum of 30 minutes to complete each page of the application form. Please note that if you leave your application form inactive for 30 minutes, the data you have entered will be lost. We therefore advise you to read the internal rules before starting to fill in the application form online.

To prevent the system becoming overloaded by a large number of applications, we advise you not to wait until the last day to apply.

The application is submitted in a single operation and cannot be changed once submitted. Therefore, please make sure that it is correct and complete before submitting it. Once you have submitted your online application a confirmation message will automatically be sent to your email address.

Please note that incomplete applications will automatically be rejected.
