Quote of the week by Udo Bullmann, presenting the Progressive Society report in London

If we want to ensure wellbeing for the many, not only the few, we have to address the root cause of our problems: an economic model of greed and deregulation that is built on the exploitation of our planet and the people. In order to change this model and put Europe on a track of sustainable well-being for all, we want to use the United Nations 2030 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) as our compass.

UPCOMING ACTIVITIES

Just a few days to go! This Sunday, May 19, the European Parliament will open its doors in Strasbourg. We’ll be there, joined by several of our Members, ready to answer people’s questions and tell them about our parliamentary work in the mandate that is just coming to an end.

And since we’ll be happy if our visitors want to turn our #EUopenDay into a family day, we’re waiting for everyone with games and music from 10.00 to 18.00.

This Saturday it’s time for the rainbow event of the year in Brussels - the Belgian Pride. It also happens to be the first event of the 2019 Pride season. We’ll be there alongside our partners at Rainbow Rose, marching for the rights of the LGBTIQ+ community in Belgium and all over Europe. You can find more details about this year’s Pride here.

Don’t forget, we’re just 6 days away from the European Elections, scheduled to take place from 23 to 26 May!

And in case you’ve missed it, take a look at the last debate with all the candidates for the EU top job here.
