Maltese MEP Alfred Sant is hosting the launch of Colorectal Cancer Awareness Month (ECCAM) at the European Parliament in Brussels with the participation of leading experts in this field. The theme of the meeting is ‘Making Noise – Saving Lives!’ and will discuss Colorectal Cancer, the 2nd largest cancer killer with around 470,000 cases every year in Europe and with almost half of those diagnosed dying from the disease. However, it is the most highly treatable of all the gastrointestinal cancer and can be ‘cured’ if diagnosed early.
Speakers will present information on developments on colorectal cancer screening in Europe.
