The Socialists and Democrats secured a majority for a major update of air passengers’ rights bringing them in line with today’s realities more than 20 years after the adoption of the current rules, and nearly 15 years after efforts to update them became blocked in the Council of the European Union. This milestone was achieved with the adoption of the European Parliament’s report on air passengers’ rights by the EP plenary.
