On 6 April, S&D Group President Iratxe García Pérez will join the Socialists’ Common Candidate, Nicolas Schmit, Chancellor of Germany Olaf Scholz, Prime Minister of Romania Marcel Ciolacu and PES President Stefan Löfven in the conference “We stand together – for our Europe” in Bucharest, Romania.
Iratxe García will give a key speech in the conference organised by the Party of European Socialists that will be joined by other high-level progressives, supporters, and activists.
Ahead of the conference, Iratxe García said.
"We are living in a crucial moment, which requires decisions that are up to the challenges we are facing. Two months before the European elections, the Social Democrats are convinced that the solution to the problems we face has only one recipe – a more united, fairer, more social and greener Europe. Polarisation and populism of the extreme right only pose a threat to our European project. In Bucharest we will advance our proposals for a Europe of dialogue and peace."
