Next week the Socialists and Democrats in the European Parliament will be electing their Group leader among the two candidates: the German Udo Bullmann and the Spanish Iratxe García. The meeting will take place on Tuesday 18 June from 15 to 18h.
The next day, on 19 June, the new group leader will hold a press conference at 9.30 am.
Ahead of the European Council to be held in Brussels on the 20 and 21 of June, the S&D Group leader will meet with PES leaders and heads of government to discuss the upcoming appointments for the next institutional cycle and to analyse the EU's strategic agenda for 2019-2024.
