Progressive Lab for Sustainable Development: From vision to action.

Adopted in September 2015 by all UN members, the 2030 Agenda and its 17 goals offers a progressive framework to make Europe more socially, environmentally and economically sustainable.

The Sustainable Development Goals and their targets should guide the debate on the Future of Europe ensuring that EU domestic and external policies put at their center the people and the planet rather than socially blind economic and fiscal considerations.

In order to move in this direction, the European Commission should:

  • Develop an overarching EU Sustainable Development Strategy, including a concrete plan of integrated implementation covering all goals and respective targets, with a 2030 timeline to guide the EU and its member states in their national implementation, and monitoring of the 2030 Agenda.
  • Develop a comprehensive and in-depth gap analysis, with associated actions.

You will find below the publication, which provides some first ideas on how to move forward to build a more progressive and sustainable Europe.
