Progressive Economy Forum 2016: Investment & Innovation at the Heart of European Recovery.

The mild recovery that took its first timid steps in 2015 is primarily driven by low energy prices and by expansionary monetary policies. It therefore remains fragile, with persisting deflationary risks and high private and public debt. Notwithstanding the new approach taken by the European Commission, the core of which is the European Fund for Strategic Investments (EFSI), the EU still lags behind when it comes to investment and innovation. Without these two elements, there is no recovery. The Progressive Economy Annual Forum will look into the interaction between investment, innovation and growth, and the role played by the entrepreneurial state in promoting them.
