SOLIDAR organises its Silver Rose Awards in cooperation with the Socialists & Democrats Group in the European Parliament (S&Ds), an occasion that celebrates and embodies the values of solidarity, social justice, sustainability, human rights and dignity for all that we believe in and strive for.
This year, the Silver Rose is organised by SOLIDAR in partnership with the Socialists & Democrats, the Party of European Socialists and the Foundation of European Progressive Studies and the European Trade Union Confederation.
We are honoured to award Justiça Ambiental (JÁ!) the Silver Rose Award for a Just Transition.
The Silver Rose Jury’s Motivation reads:
"The Silver Rose Just Transition Award 2023 goes to Justiça Ambiental (JA!) for their fight against fossil fuel projects and land grabs in Mozambique. Their struggle to preserve the environment, defend human rights, protect, and mobilise local communities is an inspiration for what a socially Just Transition means for Africa and the world."
