The S&D Group is organising this Thursday a public debate in Naples to discuss immigration and asylum with a view at the tragedies that have recently unfold in the Mediterranean sea.

This year alone, more than 100,000 migrants have undertaken the dangerous journey to Europe, in hope for a better life. Southern European states are carrying the heavy weight of mass immigration on their own, disproportionate to the rest of Europe. It is time for the EU to wake up and realise that the south can no longer cope alone.

Please join us in Naples and online to make your voice heard and exchange views with experts and citizens on how we can best reach a common European migration policy, based on solidarity and dignity.

The debate will be webstreamed live at 18:00 CET on our Relaunching Europe and S&D websites.

Audio translation will be available in English and Italian. You can also participate and react at any time using #RelaunchEU on Twitter and Facebook.
