Today is the first day of the UN Climate Summit (COP20) in Lima, Peru. From the 1st to the 12th December, the international community will discuss and shape an international binding agreement aiming to reduce global carbon emissions. In that regard, Socialists and Democrats in the European Parliament call on the EU negotiators attending the summit to do their utmost to ensure that significant progress is made.
